Guest Teacher Day – May 1, 2014.

I will be away today.  As always, respect and helpfulness are the words of the day.

Grade 8, 7/8, 6/7 – Whole school is attending Mass at St. Patrick’s church.  There will be no French this morning.  Please go to the church with Ms. Knopinska’s 6/7’s in Room 10.

Grade 6, Room 9 –

Remember the Bon Appetit video where they were discussing the heures d’ouverture (opening hours) of the boulangerie (bakery)?  Let’s take a few minutes to review telling time with the 24 hour clock like they do in France.  Please watch this instructional video:

Now, complete the worksheet by writing down the correct time according to the 24 hour clock.
If the class gets done early, you can take up the answers.

Grade 3/4, Room 6 – 

Please take the Grade 4’s to room 7 for French today.

You will be given a sheet with some sentences on it.  Please say the sentences together as a class.  Determine what each sentence means.  Then, illustrate the meaning of each sentence.
– Quand il pleut, je reste à la maison.
– Quand il y a du soleil, j’aime jouer au foot.  J’aime ca!
– Quand il neige, j’adore ca, parce que je joue avec mes copines dans la neige.
– Quand ill fait froid, je joue à l’ordinateur et j’ecoute de la musique.
– Quand il y a du vent, j’aime faire des longues promenades avec le chien.
– Quand il pleut, je mets mes bottes et je vais à la peche.
– Quand il y a du soleil, je sors avec mes copains, je vais a la plage et je joue au volley.
– Quand il neige, je fais un bonhomme de neige et des boules de neige!
– Quand il y a des orages, je reste à la maison, parce que je n’aime pas ca!

Guest Teacher Afternoon – April 29, 2014

Bon après-midi!

I am still in the school working with Mr. Kropf and Mrs. Pratt on Computer Training.  Please be respectful and helpful.

Grade 6, Room 9 – 

Watch the video where Audrey shows how food is an important part of French culture.  Make sure the subtitles are playing along with the video. Pay attention to what is going on.  There will be questions at the end.  Video should take up most of the period.

Grade 3/4, Room 6 – 

You can go and use the computer half of the library.  When on computers, please watch some weather videos from my playlist on Youtube.

 

Please also complete the weather worksheet given to you by your Guest Teacher.

Grade 4, Room 7 – 

Please work on the weather worksheets your Guest Teacher gives you.  If you have not finished your cut and paste from the other day, that should be your first job to finish.  I will be collecting them tomorrow.

I am gone for training today at the School Board.  Please welcome Mme Renner to our school.  I am sure you will demonstrate respect and helpfulness.

Grade 8, Room 12 – 
9:00 am liturgy.
When you return, please take the remaining time to work on your brochure/poster for your French speaking country.  Remember that we only have the computers in the room available.  Please share if you need to find a picture.  Otherwise, you are doing this project “by hand”.  The due date is this Friday, April 11, 2014.

Grade 7/8, Room 11 –

You will continue working on creating an interview with a classmate.  Start with writing down your questions and answers in a script.  If you happen to finish your script, read it over for spelling, grammar or punctuation errors.  (No capitals and periods in sentences are my pet peeve!)  Finally if you have extra time, you can begin rehearsing.
